Schumer was enraged by the postponement of information about Iran-Israel conflicts

A leader of the frustrated minority Chuck Schumer described the postponement of the Trump administration of the scheduled information on Tuesday about the conflict of Iran-Israel “outrageous”, “evasive” and “abandoned”, and the former president of the House of Representatives, Nancy Peeli, called the postponement of the informative house of the Chamber of the Chamber of the Chamber of the Chamber of the Chamber of the Chamber of the Chamber of the United States “.

“There is a legal obligation for the Administration to report to Congress of what is happening. What are you afraid of? Why do they not involve Congress in critical details, the result of the recent strike, the scope and the trajectory of the conflict, the long -term strategy of the administration to prevent Iran to obtain nuclear weapons, the potential risks faced by US citizens and our service members that we all have an obligation to protect?” Schumer said as he headed to journalists on Tuesday afternoon.

Schumer said the senators deserve transparency.

“This last minute postponement of our informative session is outrageous, it is evasive, it is abandoned. They are balancing, weaving and crouching. The senators deserve full transparency,” he said.

The Senate’s classified information session, which would include summaries of the State Department, as well as the president of the Joints Dan Caine, the director of the CIA, John Ratcliffe and DNI Tulsi Gabbard, had been postponed later in the week to allow other informants to join.

Schumer suggested, and a leadership assistant of the Republican Party confirmed that those other summary that are expected to join the rescheduled meeting on Thursday are Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who are currently at the NATO conference. It is not clear if the original list of the brief will still attend Thursday’s informative session.

“They didn’t give me any explanation for this delay,” Schumer told journalists. “They said ‘Well, Hegesh and Rubio will be here on Thursday.’

Schumer said that if Rubio and Hegseth wish to address the members, he is happy to know them. But he also wants to know about the original list of the briefs.

“If you want to come on Thursday, not in the replacement of this audience, that’s fine,” said Schumer. “But the obstruction of this administration in a crucial issue like this, where American lives and particularly the life of US service members are at stake, is their obligation and undermines the principles of responsibility and supervision that safeguard our democracy.”

The delay occurred when an early intelligence evaluation showed that the attack did not completely destroy Iran’s nuclear program and probably delayed it only for months, according to two people familiar with the evaluation.

While the White House is disputing the evaluation, the leader of the minority of the House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries, said it is an additional justification for an informative session of the Congress.

“It is one of the reasons why we need a gang of eight reports immediately and an informative session classified for all members of the House of Representatives,” Jeffries said.

Schumer said he has not yet received a more formal information session from the administration since he received a brief call informing him of Saturday night’s strike just before it happened. That call, he said, lacked specific details.

The classified information session of the camera established for Tuesday afternoon was also postponed, which caused a legislative tantrum on the floor on Tuesday afternoon, and legislators demanded an explanation.

Democratic representative Yvette Clarke, president of the Black Caucus of Congress, tried four times to seek an explanation of the president as part of a “parliamentary investigation.”

The Inquisition of Clarke was repeatedly fired by President President, Republican Representative Scott Desjarlais, who informed Clarke that he had not adequately declared parliamentary investigation.

After some round trip, Clarke informed her that without an explanation for postponed information, he would offer a motion to suspend. That forced legislators to return to the Chamber for an unexpected vote to defeat democratic motion.

Pelosi criticized the postponement of the informative session.

“We must all exercise our best judgment on how we prevent I will have a nuclear weapon and honor our relationship with Israel in the interest of our national security. But the unjustified cancellation of this information by the Trump administration is an intolerable insult for its coeutal branch of the government and the constitutional requirement that the president arrives at Congress before going to war,” said the Democrat of California. “The president owes the American people an explanation about why their administration keeps them their representatives in the dark.”

It is not yet clear when the home session of the house will be reprogrammed.

Massie considers the resolution of war powers

When meetings occur, legislators are expected to, especially democrats, seek answers and tests in the administration’s informative sessions, specifically why Trump said there was an imminent threat and carried out US strikes in Iran’s nuclear sites during the weekend.

Their meetings occur after several legislators in Capitol Hill argued that military action was unconstitutional. There are several bipartisan resolutions that could receive a vote in the next few days that can put some legislators in uncomfortable positions, since they consider whether Trump ignored the role of Congress in Tehran’s coup.

Republican representative Thomas Massie and Democratic representative RO Khanna introduced a resolution of war powers last week to reproduce the president’s decision to launch attacks. While Massie continued to criticize Trump and his role in the conflict, the president lashed out at the Republican of Kentucky, saying that “it was not a magician” and threatened to campaign for Massie’s Republican opponent in the next elections.

Massie has now softened his approach, telling journalists in the Capitol on Monday that he is now considering taking out the powers of the bipartisan war.

“If the high fire is maintained, and we are not involved in hostilities, then it is a debatable point. I would not need to take it to the floor,” Massie said.

Massie also added that he is open to repairing things with the president: “I would like a fire between President and President Trump. If I can get the same treatment, after his bunker looking for me, he dropped me.”

Trump announced on Monday that Israel and Iran had agreed to stop the fire, after more than a week of struggle after Israel’s attacks, and subsequent US attacks, in Iran’s nuclear program. Hours after Alto El Fuego entered into force, Israel said Iran raped him, what they will deny.

Trump expressed his anger with Israel and Iran, accusing both of violating the agreement of Alto el Fuego shortly after he began.

“I am not happy with Israel. Ok, when I say that now you have 12 hours, do not leave in the first hour and simply let everything you have about them fall. So I’m not happy with them. I am not happy with Iran,” Trump told journalists on Tuesday morning.

The speaker Mike Johnson said Monday night that he expects the camera’s informative session to have a “tone” different from the light of the high fire.
