As the dust is based on the recent diplomacy of fast fire of President Donald Trump in the Russian-Ukraine War, attention focuses on what follows in the peace negotiations.

Trump seemed positive on Monday when he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders in the White House, only two days after his summit with the Vladimir Putin of Russia in Alaska.

“I think President Putin will make peace. I think President Zelensky will make peace. We’ll see if they can get along,” Trump said.

The president promised to help European partners provide security guarantees for Ukraine, and said he was beginning to organize a bilateral meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin.

But Russia has poured cold water into some of those most prominent aspects. Moscow has not confirmed that Putin will sit with Zelenskyy and demands to be part of any discussion about security guarantees.

Here are some key questions in the future.

Will there really a Putin-Zelenskyy Summit or a trilateral meeting?

President Trump first pressed for a trilateral meeting between Putin, Zelenskyy and himself before moving to propose a bilateral meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin.

When asked about the change on Tuesday, the White House Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, told ABC News senior political correspondent, Rachel Scott, that a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin should occur before any possible trilateral meeting due to the “areas of disagreement” between the two countries.

Leavitt also said that Putin “promised to” meet Zelenskyy in the coming weeks, but Kremlin has not confirmed that.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov seems to have only minimized the perspectives of a summit between the two leaders in the near future.

“We are ready for any format,” Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday. “But when it comes to high -level meetings, it is necessary to prepare them in the most complete way at all previous stages, so that the summits do not lead to a worsening of the situation, but mark the end of the negotiations that we are ready to continue.”

According to Lavrov, Putin “proposed that negotiations [with Ukraine] Not only continues, but it will also be considered a higher level of delegations “in a phone call with Trump.

He wondered on Tuesday to the White House where a possible meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy would be held, and specifically if Budapest, Hungary, was an option as reported. Leavitt said they would provide details as soon as we can. “

As for a trilateral meeting, Leavitt said that it would happen “if necessary” after the direct conversations between Putin and Zelenskyy.

Trump, during an “Fox interview & Friends “On Tuesday he left open the possibility that Putin does not want to make a deal.

“I think Putin is tired of that. I think everyone is tired of that. But you never know,” Trump said. “We are going to discover about President Putin in the next two weeks. What can I tell you.”

How would security guarantees be seen?

President Trump promised on Monday “very good protection” for Ukraine, and said Putin said Russia would accept security guarantees for Ukraine, a key demand from Zelenskyy in any peace agreement.

The European White House leaders pressed Monday for protections similar to mutual defense obligations of article 5 under NATO. Ukraine has pressed to become a member of the Alliance, which Russia and Trump have rejected.

Since Monday, Trump has ruled out US boots in the field in Ukraine in a peace maintenance role. Instead, he has raised the possibility of American air support for kyiv and helping Europe coordinate security guarantees.

According to the White House, Trump has instructed his team of the National Security team to devise a “framework for these security guarantees that can be acceptable to help guarantee lasting peace and end this war.”

NATO defense officials, including US military officials, held a virtual meeting on Wednesday to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine.

Russia, meanwhile, said that any conversation without them They are in a “way to anywhere.”

“We cannot accept the proposal to address the problems of collective safety and safety without the participation of Russia. This will not work. We have repeatedly explained that Russia does not exaggerate their interests, but we will firmly and decisively protect our legitimate interests,” said Lavrov.

Russia said that “he has not heard any constructive idea of European leaders on how to solve the situation in Ukraine in the context of his visit to Washington, and is witnessing an aggressive escalation of the situation.”

On the other hand, Lavrov said Wednesday that Ukraine should follow a route that includes all the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, which includes the Russian and China Federation.

What about the conflict points of ‘territory’?

President Trump, while meting with Zelenskyy and European leaders in the White House, said they needed to “discuss possible territory exchanges taking into account the current contact line.”

Trump has talked about the “exchange” of the Earth, but it is not clear what Russia offered to Ukraine in exchange for keeping some of the Ukrainian territory that he won since his invasion. Since February 2022, Russia has won around 20% of the lands of Ukraine.

But NATO general secretary Mark Rutte said that exchanges of territory were not discussed during Monday’s session.

“We have not discussed that today, because everyone is clear, including the president, who when it comes to territory, that is the Ukrainian president, who has discussed this in the trilateral and probably more conversations after that, with the Russian leadership,” Routte said.

Moscow has set his gaze in the Donbas region, including Donetsk, which is said to be rich in mineral resources and serves as the industrial heart of Ukraine.

Zelenskyy has long opposed Sovereign territory to Russia, saying that the Constitution of the Nation prohibits it. Zelenskyy said that Ukraine should be decision -making with respect to its territory.
