Senator Bernie Sanders pointed to Kennedy’s statements in doubt about the integrity of the main medical organizations. Kennedy argued that they have been corrupted by the pharmaceutical industry.

Kennedy doubled and told Sanders: “I tell you that the American Heart Association has been corrupted by the pharmaceutical industry.”
Later, Sanders replied: “suggest that each institution, loves it, pediatrics, is” corrupt “because they don’t agree is an insult.”
