Judge temporarily blocks Trump’s move to Barvard bar to register international students

A federal judge has temporarily blocked the Trump administration to revoke the capacity of Harvard University to register international students.
Harvard University sued the Trump administration on Friday, claiming that the measure was “a shameless violation of the first amendment, the due process clause and the administrative procedure law.”
The American district judge Allison D. Burroughs granted a temporary restriction order and established a hearing for Tuesday morning.
The president of Harvard, Alan Garber, described the order as “critical step to protect the rights and opportunities of our international students and academics” in a letter to the students of the university sent Friday afternoon.
The Trump Administration said Thursday that the school lost its ability to use the student and exchanges visitors (which allows non -citizens to study at the university under a specific visa) because it had not met the demands sent last month to provide information about students’ visa holders.
“As a result of its refusal to comply with multiple applications to provide the Department of National Security, pertinent information while perpetuating an insecure campus environment that is hostile to Jewish students, promotes pro-hamas sympathy and employs racist diversity, equity and inclusion policies, has lost this privilege” of the Department of Security of the Head of the City of City in the university of a letter of a letter of a letter of a letter of a letter of a letter of a letter of a letter of a letter of a letter of a letter of a letter of a letter of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of a letter of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university of the university.
On early Friday, Gerber retreated in a message to the university.
“The government has affirmed that its destructive action is based on the breach of Harvard to comply with the requests for information from the United States National Security Department. In fact, Harvard responded to the requests of the department as required by law,” said Gerber.

In his complaintHarvard said “there is no legal justification” to cancel the State.
The school accused the administration of riding an “unprecedented and retaliation attack” because the university supports the policies that the administration does not like.
“The Government has casually ruled out the basic protections of the first amendment, the protections of due procedural process and the DHS regulations for the immediate and devastating effect for Harvard and its community. Harvard is more than 7,000 holders of Visas F-1 and J-1, and their dependents have become pawns in the campaign of the government of the presentation of reprisals,” the complaints read.
The dispute over international students is the last development in the confrontation of the administration with one of the most prestigious universities in the country.
Trump has threatened with the school exempt from school taxes and is holding billions in federal funds after the refusal of the school to meet the demands of the administration with respect to the policies and governance of the campus, including actions on anti -Semitism and the use of DEI in the campus.
Latest survey By ABC News/Washington Post found that most Americans (66%) took Harvard’s side in the conflict. Thirty -two percent of respondents put on the side of the Trump administration. The survey was conducted before the administration’s move to prevent Harvard from admitting international students.
The Secretary of National Security, Noem, wrote to Harvard in April requesting that a section of information to the DHS be delivered so that the school retains its state of Sevp.
According to the letter, he asked Harvard to give information about the illegal “known” illegal activity of the Student Visa head; violent activity; threats for students or teachers; disciplinary actions taken as a result of being involved in a protest; Information on whether the student obstructed the school learning environment; And the courses that the student is taking to maintain the state of the visa.
Noem said that the school did not provide adequate information in response, and that it is a “privilege, not a right” for students to study at American universities.
