The standing remains found in Lake Utah belong to the missing man since 1997

The remains of a human foot found within a hiking shoe on the banks of a lake in Utah belong to a man who disappeared in 1997, according to officials.
The remains were found on the shores of Lake Fish in the Utah center in May in May, according to the Sheriff’s Office of Sevier County.
The researchers determined that the hiking start was carried out in 1996 for only one year. The researchers were able to link the boot to a cold case disappearance since September 1997.
The man who disappeared, David White, intended to go fishing with some friends and had rented a hotel room nearby, said the Sheriff’s office. When the plans with friends failed, White went to fish anyway, according to the authorities.

The Sevier County Sheriff’s office published a photo of David Wright by Washington Utah, who disappeared in September 1997.

Later, his boat was found walking along the lake with no one on board, according to the officials.
“A shoe was found and a hat floating in the water giving a possible indication in which it was believed that White had fallen. There were no witnesses at that time. All this was a mystery so far,” said the Sheriff’s office in a press release.
White’s original search lasted five days and no more evidence was found at that time.
“This case has been in the minds of each of the SAR members who were involved in the search 28 years ago. It is good to finally have some closure for the family and search engines,” said Sheriff Nathan Curtis in a statement.
The Forensic Doctor’s office ordered the researchers to collect DNA from the foot and the DNA of a daughter and sent the samples to Bode Cellmark Forensics.
The evidence revealed a parents’ party with 99,9994% of certainty, said the sheriff’s office.
“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Sheriff’s office of Sevier County, Sar’s, Detective Sgt Pearson, Detective Sargt Larsen, Sheriff Curtis and Gary (Maulton) of Fishlake Lodge for his incredible support and tireless efforts. We are also deeply grateful by the individual and his dog that we find the shoe, we will not be today. White said in a statement published by officials.
