The Trump administration is considering publishing the audio of the interview of former President Joe Biden with special advisor Robert Hur during Hur 2023 investigation into the management of Biden’s classified documents, familiar sources with the matter confirm ABC News.
Trump’s White House lawyers were provided by the audio by the Department of Justice weeks ago, the sources said.
The transcription of the interviews was launched in 2024, so the launch of the audio did not reveal anything new that Biden told the special lawyer, but it would be the first time that Biden is heard on the tape.
The statement would arrive when the Trump administration is fighting simultaneously to maintain the report of former special lawyer Jack Smith about the management of Trump classified documents in secret.

The one year of Hur year on the management of Biden’s classified documents ended without criminal charges were recommended because the evidence was not enough to support a conviction, said Hur. However, the 388 pages report that Hur published created a political storm as the special lawyer described Biden as someone who could appear before a jury as an “older man with a bad memory.”
Hur, in his report, repeatedly pointed out the moments of his interview where he said Biden seemed to have trouble remembering the years he served as vice president and when his son Beau died.
The Republicans in Capitol Hill had been looking for access to audio recording of the Biden Hur interview as part of their trial trial investigation in the then president.
