Zelenskyy urges the ‘hard’ measures after Trump shows frustration with Putin

London – The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, requested more “difficult measures” against Russia to push President Vladimir Putin to a high fire agreement, which suggests after another round of drone strikes that Moscow “could not matter less diplomacy.”
The long -range cross -border attacks have continued during the efforts mediated by the United States to ensure a high fire in Ukraine, intended for a trampoline for a broader peace agreement to end the invasion of their 3 -year neighbor of Russia.
Both kyiv and Moscow agreed last week to freeze attacks in the Black Sea and the energy infrastructure, although both have accused the other of violating the pause in attack energy objectives.
In a video address from Sunday night, Zelenskyy reported “more strikes and bombings” in seven Ukrainian regions. “The geography and brutality of the Russian attacks, not only occasionally, but literally every day and the night, they show that Putin does not matter less diplomacy,” he said.

“For several weeks, there has been an US proposal for a high unconditional fire,” Zelenskyy continued. “And almost every day, in response to this proposal, there are Russian drones, bombs, artillery bombings and ballistic attacks.”
“Russia deserves greater pressure: all difficult measures that can break their ability to fight war and maintain the system that wants nothing more than war,” said Zelenskyy. “The sanctions against Russia are essential. More air defense for Ukraine is essential. More cooperation and unity among all partners is essential.”
President Donald Trump hint at Sunday his apparent frustration with the lack of progress towards a peace agreement in Ukraine, telling NBC News that he was “very angry” with Putin after the Russian leader criticized Zelenskyy again and asked for his elimination in favor of a transition government.
Trump added that he would consider applying new sanctions to the lucrative oil exports of Russia and any nation that bought its oil. China and India are among the most important customers for Russian oil products.
Later, the president told reporters on Air Force One that his administration was making significant progress to end the war. When asked about his relationship with Putin, Trump replied: “I don’t think he will return to his word.”
“I have known him for a long time,” Trump said. “We have always got along despite the deception of Russia, Russia, Russia.”

The president said he was “disappointed” by Putin’s last attacks against Zelenskyy. “He considers that he is not credible, he is supposed to make a deal with him, if you like it or do not like it, so I was not happy with that.”
When asked if there was a deadline for Russia to accept fire, Trump suggested that there was a “psychological term.” He added: “If I think they are hitting us, I will not be happy for that.”
Russia and Ukraine continued cross -border strikes until Sunday night until Monday morning.
The Ukraine Air Force said that Russia launched two missiles and 131 drones to the country during the night, of which he said that 57 drones were demolished and 45 lost in flight without causing damage. The Sumy, Donetsk, Kharkiv, kyiv and Zhytomyr regions were affected by the attack, the Air Force said in a telegram position.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defense said its forces knocked 66 Ukrainian drones during the night: 41 over the Bryansk region, 24 over the Kaluga region and one on the Kursk region.
